In this project I created the logo for Davide Roma, an Italian menswear brand. Davide Roma is a luxury brand specialized in exclusive suits and cashmere and silk garments.
Considering the elegance of the brand, I chose to create a monogram with its initials. The upper part defines the letter “D”, which extends into the lower part to complete the letter “R”. The two letters are defined by a thread that wraps around itself and enters the eye of a needle. The use of needle and thread recalls the sartorial character of the brand and its care in the realization of every single piece.
To regularize the shape of the letters, I initially built a geometric structure identified by the intersection of several circles. Starting from this structure I then chose the individual elements of the curves able to outline the monogram in a highly geometric way.
To the monogram I finally added the extended name of the brand, creating a custom font. In order to recall the classic style of the brand, I opted for a serif font, however, creating very subtle graces and maintaining a minimalist modern style.
Finally, I created some mockups to visualize the actual application of the logo on the sign, labels and packaging.
